CONVENIENT FOODS

CONVENIENT FOODS:-

Lately, there’s been a lot of fast-food "bashing" by the mainstream media and the "diet dictocrats". But the real problem isn’t in how "fast" a food is, or whether it’s eaten "on the go". An APPLE could be considered junk food if that was the definition! Ridiculous! The real questions we should be asking are, "What is the food prepared with?", and "How many flavor enhancers and preservatives are used to keep you addicted to the ‘store-bought taste’ and make the food ‘convenient’ for a long time?" If your life is so fast-paced you can’t stop to find out what you’re eating and sit down together for relaxed family meals, you need to reevaluate your priorities, or get ready for some sickness in your future.

"If you don’t make time to be well, you’ll have to take time to be sick." Hamburgers, pizza, and even French Fries aren’t the real culprits in American’s ill-health. But, wrong attitudes, lack of will to demand truth, and inability to change our ways may be the reasons for our gradual decline - nationwide. This goes beyond food choices and to the very foundation of our civilized society. You’d think with all the knowledge and technology we have today, Americans’ life-spans would be some of the longest in the world — but that’s not the case.

Much attention is given to the healthfulness of the Mediterranean Diet even though it doesn’t conform to the current fad of "low-fat, low-carb, no-red meat, low-calorie, eat-nothing" diets. Sure, your diet (what you eat) plays a major roll in your health. But so does the attitude that goes along. As I said at the beginning, there’s been a study on nearly everything. I remember reading about a study in which people were asked to make a word-association when they heard the words "chocolate cake". In the U.S. people typically associated that with the word "GUILT", while in other more long-lived countries, the people were more likely to associate it with the word "CELEBRATION". Eating rich foods in moderation, for special occasions, and with positive emotions has a beneficial effect on health. So, make good food choices, then enjoy what you eat.
